So, I know that I said my last post would be my last until I was in France and people could hear something interesting instead of this nothingness, but I got excited. Over the past couple of days everyone has been asking 'are you so excited?' and 'are you already packed?', etc. Neither of which I was. Now, with four hours to go before I have to be at the airport I can honestly say I am one of those two. I'm amazingly excited!!!! But I am also amazingly nervous. Last night I watched a French movie and realised I don't know nearly as much French as I pretend to. But I'm not worried at this point.
Anyway, I should be packing instead of writing this post but this is the option that requires less effort.

3 days...
After a long countdown, there are only three days to go before I leave for France. My student exchange to France was actually the reason behind my creating this blog, so I guess I should set up my story. In 3 days I'm going to France to live with a family in this gorgeous little rural town for a 2 month exchange. I've been told its probably not the smartest thing to do to contact home because of homesickness, etc. so I decided to create a blog so people back home can see some of my stories and stuff without me technically contacting them. And yes, I do feel pretty clever about fooling the system :)
So, I've been attempting to start packing for weeks but whenever I try am always surprised about how little I have to pack and then get bored or distracted and never do any actual packing. Now there is only a weekend left before I go I figure its probably smart to start now. Also I am collecting Australian memorabilia and stuff, e.g. keychains, recipes for pavlova, etc. to give to people over there. I was also given this pack by Jenny Macklin to give to them to teach them about Australia and stuff but its filled with stuff like an explanation of the House of Representatives and a CD with the National Anthem being sung by 9 different people. I don't know about you, but a pamphlet on Australia's governmental system would be EXACTLY what I would want if I was French. Sorry if my sarcasm didn't translate to text there...
Anyway this will probably be my last post before I'm in France and actually have something interesting to say, so
A bientot,
Grace
p.s. Sorry if some of my posts read like random and unconnected thoughts I still haven't got the hang of the whole talking by myself to cyberspace (i.e. possibly the whole world but probably no one) thing
